Librairie Saga x La Semaine des Arts Presents: Authors of NDG
To celebrate « August 12 - Buy a Quebec Book Day », in collaboration with NDG Arts, we invite you to join us for two literary talks with local NDG authors who specialize in genre fiction!
5pm-6pm : Meet authors Michelle Franklin and Su J Sokol to learn about their perspectives on speculative fiction (such as science fiction and fantasy), and learn how they create different worlds full of magic and wonders that can help us to find ways of improving our own reality. (In English)
6:30pm-7:30pm : Join Marie-Eve Bourassa and Catherine Côté to learn the secrets of crime fiction writing, as they discuss how they researched and wrote their own detective mystery novels that are set in various periods of Montreal’s history! (In French)

Novelist and scriptwriter, Marie-Eve Bourassa is the author of many books, among them The Red Light trilogy (VLB éditeur), winner of the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Book in French and of the Jacques Mayer Award of the Société du roman policier de Saint-Pacôme. She also writes young adult fiction : Parasites - La Guêpe (de la Bagnole) is the first volume of a new young adult trilogy.

Su J Sokol
Su J Sokol is a social rights advocate and a writer of speculative and interstitial fiction. Originally from Brooklyn, Sokol is the author of three novels. Her short stories have been published in a number of magazines and anthologies.
